Position Title: Packaging Technician
Reports To: Production Manager
Position Status: Full-Time/Hourly
Pay Rate: $18-20/hour; DOE
Job Description: The Packaging Technician is responsible for many operations related to production. Your primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Processing of post-production products (packaging, palletization, and shipping preparation)
- Cleaning, organizing, and preparation of packaging machinery and equipment
- Assisting with warehouse and delivery needs
You will also be trained in cellaring procedures including but not limited to:
- Quality control
- Product transfers
- Clean-in-place (CIP) procedures
- Pre-packaging conditioning
- Malt and hop handling
- Participation in sensory/product improvement
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Preference for someone with experience in the brewing industry
- Passion for craft beer and professional appearance required
- Must be a team player with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to complete paperwork with a high degree of accuracy
- Physical ability to lift up to 170 pounds
- Ability to stand, sit, bend or lift for extended periods of time
- Must be able to follow and enforce safety protocols
- Must be able to work weekends and some holidays
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and emergency situations in a swift manner
- Ability to safely work with potentially hazardous chemicals
- Must have a strong work ethic and ability to multitask
- Valid California driver's license
- Clean driving record
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Organizing packaging materials and building case trays for canning runs
- Effectively and safely operate keg washer
- Efficiently troubleshoot maintenance issues
- Safely operate company forklifts
- Assist with packing orders for out of town shipment and online customer orders
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of workspace
- Assist in inventory management
- Report any maintenance issues or concerns to your supervisor and/or Production Manager
- Promote and represent Burgeon Beer Co. in a positive manner
- Stay up to date on all product offerings
- Communicate any escalated issues, grievances or safety concerns to your supervisor
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings (paid) unless absence has been excused
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by company co-founders
