Position Summary:
Burgeon Beer Company is searching for friendly, reliable, and energetic Taproom Support Staff to join our team at The Arbor Taproom & Scratch Kitchen in Little Italy! Taproom Support Staff members are responsible for setting tables, serving food orders, removing used dishes and utensils, and communicating with the front and back of house to ensure efficiency and a positive customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
  • Must be a team player with friendly demeanor
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend or lift for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to enforce safety regulations 
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings and some holidays
  • Must be detail orientated and organized
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and emergency situations in a swift manner

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and maintain a positive attitude
  • Provide all customers with unforgettable tasting experience
  • Clean, organize and restock tasting room and beer cooler
  • Promote and represent Burgeon Beer Co. in a positive manner
  • Stay up to date on all product offerings
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately
  • Operate expo window managing ticket times and orders 
  • Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
  • Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
  • Ensure dishes are properly stowed and prepared for dishwasher
  • Assist staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins
  • Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
  • Remove dirty dishes and utensils
  • Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
  • Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
  • Provide special event support when needed 
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings (unless absence has been excused by supervisor)
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by company co-founders

Personal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be an excellent brand ambassador and representative of Burgeon Beer at all times
  • Maintain excellent attendance record
  • Have a thorough understanding of all product offerings
  • Respond to customer inquiries
  • Report to Burgeon at The Arbor Management
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by company co-founders
