Position: Accounting Associate
Position Status: Full Time; Hourly
Pay Rate:  Based on Experience

Position Summary:

The Accounting Associate will be responsible for but not limited to paying bills, processing incoming payments, submitting payroll, and onboarding and setting up new employees. The Accounting Associate will need to perform office tasks such as filing, providing account support via phone, mail, and e-mail, invoicing, updating Quickbooks, scheduling payments, and more.

As the Accounting Associate, you should be well-organized and possess a sound knowledge of accounting principles and vendor management. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital in this role, as our success depends on receiving accurate and timely payments.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age 
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, & Quickbooks
  • Able to use Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Must maintain friendly demeanor and professional appearance
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients 
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and emergency situations in a swift manner
  • Passion for and knowledge of craft beer
  • Outstanding account management skills
  • Ability to multi-task

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Respond in timely manner to account inquiries
  • Verify hours and submit payroll Bi-Weekly
  • Request and fulfill payments in Quickbooks
  • Pay bills in a timely manner
  • Process incoming checks
  • Onboard new employees
  • Act as a resource for employee questions regarding hours worked, PTO etc.
  • Organize and process employee records
  • Ensure accounts are paying on time
  • Update aging report daily
  • Work to reduce AR balance
  • Update financial and customer information in Ekos/Quickbooks
  • Ability to manage and prioritize effectively
  • Manage purchasing and accounting reports  
  • Must give extreme attention to detail and be able to remain agile and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Required to have excellent follow-through with all accounts, completing payments requests in a timely manner and providing follow-up as needed
  • Be flexible and able to adapt to quickly changing environments in a fast-growing organization
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks/duties as assigned and delegating tasks as needed
  • Self-motivated and able to self-manage through certain projects
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all accounts, work collaboratively, and manage conflict constructively
  • May be required to work at various locations
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned by company co-founders

  • Be a brand ambassador for Burgeon Beer at all times
  • Have a thorough understanding of product 
  • Report to Derek van Leeuwen
  • Promote and represent Burgeon Beer Co. in a positive manner
  • Respond to customer inquiries
  • Stay up to date on all Burgeon events and growth
  • Communicate any escalated issues or grievances to supervisor
  • Required to attend all mandatory staff meetings (unless absence has been excused)
